Mindset Reframe

The Mindset Reframe Worksheet is a trauma-informed reflection tool designed to help participants shift from fear-based thinking to possibility-centered action. In Family-Centered Coaching, limiting beliefs—especially those tied to benefit cliffs, financial risk, employment changes, or past setbacks—can quietly shape decision-making and stall progress. This worksheet creates a structured space to name the fear, examine the story being told, truth-check the evidence, and intentionally reframe the narrative toward strength, choice, and forward movement. By anchoring into past successes and identifying one small brave step, participants can reduce shame, increase emotional safety, and build confidence in their own capacity.

How to Use This Tool: Begin by helping the participant identify the fear or limiting belief that is showing up and what triggered it. Explore the story behind the fear and gently truth-check it by examining evidence and considering alternative possibilities. Guide the participant to reframe the narrative—shifting from “What if something goes wrong?” to a more empowering belief rooted in their strengths and lived experience. Support them in identifying one doable action to take within the next 24 hours and a practical way to remind themselves of their new mindset. Revisit this worksheet as needed during moments of doubt, transition, or growth to reinforce possibility, safety, and self-trust.
